Birdworld's 26 acres is home to wide variety of birds from penguins and parrots to flamingo and owls
With over 800 birds from 180 different species, there is plenty to see at the park including Animal Encounter sessions at the Jenny Wren Farm, Discovery Theatre Shows and the Outdoor Flying Display (check timetable for daily sessions).
Visitors can also learn about the different species of mysterious owl in the park’s newest exhibit, the Terry Pratchett Owl Parliament. If that wasn’t enough, for a special treat children (or adults over 7 years old) can book to feed one the park’s two penguin colonies themselves with one of Birdworld’s special experience vouchers.
You can also enjoy the company of piranhas and visit dwarf crocodiles in the park’s Underwater World! There are over 30 exhibits of fish, crustaceans, amphibians and reptiles and toddlers are provided with step stools to ensure they can see properly. Best advised with small ones to go early to this popular bit, as the walkway will be getting crowded as the day goes on!
For food there is plenty of picnic benches, the safari kiosk and the Puddleduck’s restaurant serving hot and cold food and children's snack boxes.
It's worth noting that donations to the Birdworld Conservation Fund which supports initiatives such as SANCCOB, The World Owl Trust and The Great Bustard Project.
