Sixteen semi-finalists in the nation’s biggest and most prestigious choral competition - National Choir of the Year 2016 - will sing in a bid to win their category and a coveted place in the Grand Final at the Wales Millennium Centre on 3 December.
The choirs have been selected from more than 160 groups which auditioned up and down the country earlier this year. Now, after months of preparation, they each have 8 minutes to impress expert judges, award-winning performer and former King’s Singer Stephen Connolly, acclaimed vocal coach and broadcaster Mary King and celebrated composer, presenter and conductor Will Todd. The day is hosted by popular choral conductor and composer Greg Beardsell.
