At the end of the Longleat special 50th anniversary year, the wondrous Festival of Light is returning and incredible, giant lanterns will light up once more. And this year’s event is going to be a celebration to remember.
As it’s the Safari Park’s 50th anniversary, this year the animal stars will be taking centre stage with breathtaking, larger than life scenes honouring some of their most famous residents. Walk through the grand entrance to the Festival of Light to be greeted by eight unique and majestic lion lanterns; commemorating our very first residents back in 1966. As you continue on your journey, you’ll be transported into the world of our animals; come face to face with intricate porcelain giraffes, stunning silk elephants and even giant gorillas. It’s going to be wild and all set against the stunning backdrop of Longleat House.
And that’s not all. It isn’t just their birthday this year. 2016 marks 150 years of Beatrix Potter and her beautiful stories and characters continue to delight the young and the young at heart. So this year as part of the Festival of Light you can enter her enchanting world and see it as it’s never been seen before. Walk through this timeless world with Peter Rabbit and his friends to guide you. But beware as Mr McGregor has his eyes on you as you explore his illuminated garden.
