There’s a host of horribly fun Halloween activities taking place at Newhaven Fort over the October Half-Term Holidays (October 21st-29th).
Descend into the terrifying tunnels of the Eastern Magazine for a tortuous tour through a post-apocalyptic world filled with a variety of scary live characters. Who knows what surprises lie in wait around the next corner and will you be able to work out which figures are mannequins and which are horribly real before its too late!
Visitors can also take part in the Halloween-themed quiz trails, craft activities and join the Mad Scientists for some exciting experiments in their spooky laboratory. Monday – Friday, 10:30am-12:30pm (booking required).
Plus there are also the Jaws and Claws sessions at 11:00am, 1:00pm & 2:30pm on October 29th where you can enjoy close encounters with a selection of cute, cuddly and creepy critters. These sessions are popular and booking is recommended.
Cloaked in mystery and protected by its impressive ramparts, Newhaven Fort has been keeping its secrets safely hidden for almost 150 years.

Immerse yourself in the dramatic blitz experience, where you’ll feel what it was like to be caught in an air raid during the WWII. Soak up the unique atmosphere of the cliff-top gun emplacements and enjoy the stunning views of the Sussex coast and South Downs, or explore the tunnels buried beneath the impressive Victorian fortifications.
Enjoy lunch in the 1940s themed Fort Teas Room and browse through the range of souvenirs in the quirky gift shop. Young explorers can enjoy the outdoor playground and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome too.
