The largest mechanical puppet ever constructed in Britain will be paying a visit to Blists Hill Victorian Town for a special evening event on Saturday 14 April from 6.30pm until 10pm. The spectacular Man Engine crawls at 4m high and ‘transforms’ to stand at 11.2m high.
The Man Engine will be centre stage at the amazing and spectacular hour-long ceremony at 8.30pm when the audience will be asked to help wake the puppet from its slumber. Bring along your enthusiasm, energy and loudest voice to help the Man Engine Team raise the sleeping giant to its full height with songs and chants.
During the evening the sounds of the live band will fill the air and the actors perform street theatre around the historic streets. Join in the sing–a-long in the pub before heading down to the Green to watch the remarkable Man Engine Ceremony at 8.30pm.
During the evening visit the Victorian Town's Sweet Shop for some tasty treats, call in to the Chemist shop and find out about old-fashioned cures & potions and treat yourself to some freshly backed bread at the Bakers. The Town's Grocers shop, Printer and the New Inn Pub will all be open for business. Tuck into some delicious Fish and Chips from the Fried Fish Dealers and other treats from the cafes and come prepared to be amazed by the biggest mechanical man in Great Britain.
Tickets for this special evening event must be purchased in advance and are £10 for adults and £8 for concessions. Annual Passport Tickets will not be valid for admission to this evening event.
