Birmingham Bach Choir Summer concerts are an eclectic selection of Italian choral music spanning 4 centuries.

Sun-drenched Italy has produced some of the greatest artists and musicians of all time. The Birmingham Bach Choir is celebrating some of the range of choral music which has come down to us over the centuries in a wide-ranging programme spanning four centuries and exploring both sacred and secular music.

Highlights from the programme include madrigals by two of the greatest Italians of their day, Claudio Monteverdi and Carlo Gesualdo, Prince of Venosa, who is as well known for having murdered his wife and her lover on discovering them in the act as for his amazingly expressive compositions. A programme of unusual music by famous composers who include Lotti, Gabrieli, Rossini and ending with three magical part songs by the 20th century choral master, Ildebrando Pizzetti.

The concerts will be performed in the atmospheric Great Malvern Priory, originally a medieval Benedictine Monastery, right in the heart of Great Malvern.

All Tickets: £16 (£14 conc)
